At the prompting of the Real Doctor, I have gotten some glasses. Not just glasses, fogey glasses: bifocals.

The Real Doctor has always been bothered by the near-perfectness of my vision. However, reading too many student essays by timid frosh who write
about like this for a whole page made reading glasses advisable. A thorough eye exam showed that my lenses were no longer perfect (an observation supported by my noticing that stars were no longer points, but, well, sort of star-shaped). So, glasses. And I gotta say, they make a difference. Reading is easier. Stars are a lot more finely resolved.
It's also been noted that I look more professorial.
